These guys do all the wrong things that bad HVAC technicians do because most people. They use duct tape instead of UL181 A-P foil tape. The used the wrong undersized refrigerant lines for 2 of my units to save money. The crawl space air handlers are not mounted high enough off the dirt to seal off the bottom air connections. The didn't use mastic to seal duct connections like the building codes require. They had huge gaps with lots of wasted air going into my crawlspace. They installed one of my units with no filter or filter slot at all! The support bands for the duct work are too thin which made many of the duct runs pinched and not flow well. Stay away from these guys. Unfortunately I don't have a good recommendation and sadly I believe many of the HVAC guys around here do poor work as well. But I'm sure there are some good ones. The new duct system is hard pipe and the old system they replaced was hard pipe as well. The reason for replacement was the old ducts were leaky, dirty and the insulation around the pipes was shot. The new duct system looked great from the outside, but proved to be less efficient that the old system. This is based upon my power bill comparisons over the following 12 months and the KWHR usage. I found one place where one of the duct lines was about an inch from connecting to a main trunk line. Some of the insulation starting falling off the main at various spots. Just recently, my cat, who has access to my crawl space, showed up in one of my return lines. I found a duct line that had fallen off completely from the trunk line and to the register in the house. It had been taped on both ends and was laying on the ground. It was flexible duct instead of the hard duct I had paid for. It's no telling how long I have been blowing conditioned air into my crawl space. There are other runs of duct that are flex instead of hard pipe as well. I did not discover these issues until over a year past the installation date. I called the owner of the company, who was not receptive at all to my discussion. He said he would check into it and call me back but this never happened. My mistake for paying for the system before I had it inspected. I spent over $4000 for this new duct work and it is worse than what I had before. Clark - Kennerly Road Pros: Friendly staff during installation. Looked good from the outside.
